Sunjay Dutt out from Yerwada Central Jail

Sunjay Dutt out from Yerwada Central Jail (YCJ) on a furlough by the state prison authorities this Tuesday. Sanjay had applied for the furlough in November. He is serving a five-year jail term since nearly 18 months.

Earlier in October 2013, he had taken furlough on medical grounds for 28 days, followed by a similar leave for 28 days in December 2013, to tend to his ailing wife Manyata -- the latter had sparked protests.

Sunjay was looking fit in white Shirt. When asked about his fitness he said,"I have lost 18 kg. Now if I lose anymore weight, I will vanish." He even quipped that he has an eight-pack abs now, but he won't remove his shirt to show them.

When he was asked about his back to back parole he said, "I didn't get any special treatment. I had applied for furlough five months back, then later it was sanctioned. Thanks for all your support."

Sanjay says he has written 10 scripts while inside the jail and he will start working on them soon.
Sanjay Dutt was arrested under the Terrorist and Disruptive Activities Act (TADA) in April 1993, due to terrorist interactions, and illegal possession of a 9mm pistol and an AK-56 assault rifle. After spending 18 months in jail, he was granted bail in April 1995. In July 2007 he was sentenced to six years rigorous imprisonment. The Supreme Court in a judgement on 21 March 2013, convicted Dutt of illegal possession of arms relating to the 1993 Mumbai Blast case and sentenced him to five years imprisonment.
